ok

I have found that 9.2 has a problem with APIC..... So at detection it hangs and doesnt detect the ide1 controller at irq15... normally (I guess) its at 15 but with APIC on it kicks it to 14.... The kernal must have a problem with this... I keep diplaying hdc: lost interupt....

Anyone know about this issue?? Im dual booting windows and it is using APIC ... I dont want to have to go through the bios and turn off APIC every time I want to boot linux....

Any patches, kernal updates or what not I could throw in at expert install to get around this?

thanks

does anyone know how to get the test kernal on a ext2fs formatted floppy from windows???

This seems the only way I can do it... but to load it through the installer ... It must be on a ext2fs formatted disk...

is there a proggy that might do this for me???

Don't use Mandrake and half of your problems will be solved.
