i'm windows user from the beginning, but i'd like to try linux with gui. which is the best for rookie in linux?

I'd say Fedora (new RedHat) as it's got a very very easy installation and setup.
After you get a little experience with how Linux based systems work (ie, working in the /etc directory) then move to Gentoo ![]() Or if you've got the patience (~1 day) go for Gentoo right away! Installations not too hard if you know about partitions, file systems and a little networking But you need a fast internet connection and preferably a fast PC to compile with.Otherwise, go Fedora
