i have a winmodem for which i want to find some drivers.... anyone got some sites which have drivers for winmodems?

AFAIK is near impossible to get a WinModem working in anything other than Windows (hence the Win part of the name). It's probably easier to get another modem! Just get a decent one this time

actually, while zero support was once the case, there is a little bit of support for winmodems now by manufactures and indepent developers. You have to know a thing or two about linux to get them working, but if your won of the lucky ones who has a supported card you may be able to use it. Check out http://www.linmodems.org for links to various projects and drivers for winmodems. Good luck!
