Linux Newbie with Lindows OS 4.5 Developer

I am very new to the os just 2 weeks ago. I installed the software on my tester system and I am an issue with autoloading the driver for my 3com TX-97 10/100 NIC with the 168 bit 3DX chip. Everytime I restart I have to goto the directory and the shell command InsMod 3com990.o to get the module installed. I would like to have this Mod be automatically in the OS mods. I have tried Mandrake 9.2 but no success with installing the module.

I really need replys with detailed infomation on how to due this and that would be great.

Mandrake
Look for a file in /etc/rc.d/ called "rc.modules"
Go to the bottom and insert :

/sbin/modprobe 3com990

Lindows/Debian
Look for a file in /etc/ called "modules"
Go to the bottom and insert :

3com990

That should do it.

I have a file pack from 3com with the linux files and I do not know how to install them

You've already got the module working according to your first post. I gave instructions on how to get it to load automatically.

What's this file pack? Check inside it for an install guide - but it sounds like you don't need it.
