Linux Question

Who wrote it originally? Like why is it so stable
9unlike older versions of windows) and yet it's open source/free?

Haha! Kickass! I was thinken about swichen to linux, or at least dual booting, is linux generally faster then windows xp, or even 2k/98? Or does that depend on what GUI you get? I think it would be cool to get an OS that just WORKS and you don't have to tweak or anything.

Well, different desktops perform differently. Just try them out and find something you like,

In general, Linux seems a little bloated, but still is much faster than Windows. It's not as user friendly though, so you'll be spending time learning how to use it instead of tweaking.
