Mandrake 10 doesn't detect my mouse :(

I have tried both Mandrake 9.2 and 10.0 Community and they both have the same problem: they don't detect my mouse. I tried changing features in setup and everything, but simply won't work. My mouse works just fine in Windows. I haven't tried other distro, but I guess it would be the same.

Any ideas?

Who needs autodetection

Edit your /etc/X11/X86-Config-4

Search there for Section "InputDevice" and change there the Device value. Here mine for example (using PS/2)

Quote:
Section "InputDevice"

Identifier "MX500"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2"
Option "CorePointer"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "6 7"
Option "ButtonNumber" "7"
Option "Buttons" "7"
Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
Option "SendCoreEvents" "true

Option "SampleRate" "200"
Option "Resolution" "800"

EndSection
when using a USB Mouse change the Device Option to

Option "Device" /dev/input/mice/

Donator
in you rbios usb options make sure that the keyboard and mouse detection are handled by BIOS not OS.
