Gentoo/grub problem
Okay..
Today i tried to install gentoo on my 2nd HD. First here is my HD-steup: hda: Windwos Partitons, 120GB, Maxtor hd hdb: Linux Partitions, 160GB, Wesdtern Digidal hdb1: 32MB, Linux boot hdb2: 512MB Swap hdb2: 140000MB root (default...  )And here is my probem: I went throug the whole installation, cofnigured and compiled the kernel, ... wehn i made my grub.conf everything seamt to be okay and i installed it.. -Reboot- -Chachged boot device to hdb (hd-1 in my bios) Blank screen, exept a whit courser.  I guess wrong config for grub.. How can i fix this?

Okay...
but i think it was my fault! I installed the gentoo kernel at /dev/hdb1/ so ithought it shuld be (hd1,0) in the gurb.conf file. Didn't work --> grub tried to load winxp (on hda1) --> unable to mount Filesystem. Then i changed the config to load form (hd0,0) and it worked. (hdb is slave and is loaded with hdd-1 form my bios) That's it. Trail-and-error
