Could you write what specific hardware you need drivers for?

I mean, what hardware (audio, video card, etc.) are you having troubles with?

*Edit: I've just read the post that you made in the laptops section, and it seems that you haven't installed FC3 on you laptop, haven't you?

If I'm right, please try to install it first, that distro has a good interface to autodetect hardware and if you have problem with something, please post about it.

ive encountered a few problems... i think i didnt have enough disk space or used the partition manager wrong...
im using the recovery disks for the laptop and freeing all my space, then i will use partition magic again, and try the FC3 install again...
will post the results...

*should i plugthe mouse in while doin the install of fedora, or will the touchpad be fine, i dont know if it need xp drivers to work....

INSTALLATION SUCCESSFUL !!!

but...

everytime i load linux from the boot menu, i searchers for new hardware which take about 3 mins, keyboard is diasbled during this even though it asked if i want to confugure settings... also when typing in username, keyboard sometimes doesnt work...

sound doesnt seem to work, and the cd player comes up with an error when insenting a cd...
cant play any media files or movies, cant open anything without getting error messages

For sound, try ALSA... that should work for you:
http://www.alsa-project.org/

This page can also be very helpful for laptop-related questions:
http://www.linux-laptop.net/

This article is also a good read for sound on laptop under Linux, albeit a bit old:
http://www.linuxdevcenter.com/pub/a/...nuxlaptop.html

You can find sample sound configurations and driver info here:
http://linux-sound.org/drivers.html

Check if your laptop's sound chip is supported by Linux here:

well i spent a good few hours checking out those links and links of links on the page but still didnt come up with anything, alsa wont let me download anything, weather the server is down or you have to be a member or something i dont know,

here is on a toshiba sat a70 with fc3

SOUND:
Edited /etc/hotplog/blacklist and added
snd-atiixp-modem
trying resolves the sound card problems.
I also got rpm -i alsaconf-0.4.3b-1.noarch.rpm but I now forget what problem I was trying to solve.
Still no sound: I did
modprobe snd-atiixp
Got sound, so I added the above line to /etc/rc.d/rc.local
It now works, but run aumix to get all the volumes up.

CD player STILL doesn't work (playing normal CD's). In KDE, use kmix --> make sure external amp is click on and raise PCM volume. Then used cplay. Worked !

i have no idea how to do any of that... i also dont know what sound card i got, a stock toshiba one i guess...

im still having other problem istalling apps, but im gunna try and figure the command line out for myself, would be nice if i could get this sound working
