WINE menu shortcuts?
Ok, so I've been messing around with a Mandrake 9.2 dist I downloaded a while back on another pc. Only thing is I'm having an issue which has got me stumped... i've installed WINE and a couple of windows apps, winrar 3.42 being one of them, and as expected WINE created appropriate shortcuts in the KDE program menu (aka start menu).
The problem is these shortcuts don't appear to work at all... instead all that happens when choosing an app is that it will display the program name in the taskbar for a few secs while it's loading, and then just vanish. I've checked the properties of these start menu shortcuts (e.g. for winrar it has set this: wine "C:\\Program Files\\WinRAR\\WinRAR.exe") which appears to be correct. Hell, if I paste that command line into a console the app loads fine, and pasting the same command line into a desktop shortcut also works. But the apps just will not launch via the start menu... they start loading, so something is going on, but kill themselves shortly afterwards. Any ideas? So far this just looks like a random annoying bug to me, but wanted to see if it's something I'm doing wrong...

Never mind, given up tinkering with linux for now after another random bug appeared (home drive shortcuts in any form stopped working altogether, same problem as wine shortcuts - will start loading then kill itself before displaying anything). Is mandrake generally considered a buggy distro? Every time I've tried using it I keep getting weird things happening, lol
