Suse 9.2 display problems on inspiron 8500
I have currently installed SUSE 9.2 on my dell inspiron 8500 and once it booted into the O/S the destop was set to 640X480, when i changed it to 1024x 768 it showed multiple desktops at once on the same screen, but only a quarter of one 2/3 of another and maybe a third of a third one. this makes it very very difficult to navigate, sort of like it's on a filmstrip across the screen...... i can't seem to figure out why it does this. it does this on any res exept for 640X480 , if you are not familiar with 8500's the screen is a custom size. i have been looking for display drivers for it to try and fix the problem and my search has come up with no luck...i was wondering if anyone else had any problems like this and if you all had any ideas as to what i could to to fix this....
any help or ideas are greatly appreciated,

Have you installed ATI proprietary driver for SuSE yet? Check out this thread on where to get them and the instructions. Note, you need to install it as per instructions and use SuSE-specific drivers (they need a special kernel module installed).
