Linux newbie

Im looking to get a distro of linux. Im think of Mandrake. But i need a program to burn ISO. Me and nero dont get on and i use mmjb for mp3's , so i need a program.

On the topic of being a linux noob...I've tried linux, but have always become frustrated because I really don't know anything about the OS. Are there any good linux guides on the web that anyone would reccomend? Thanks!
