wine(x) and radeon 8500 and games ?

do any of the drivers work with wine or winex i know that the ati 2.5.1 dont work with winex what about wine ? and what about the 3d party drivers do any of em work ?

The 3rd party drivers don't support 3D acceleration afaics. Wine should work fine with the 8500 - although I haven't tested it myself

Wine and Winex do not work with the ATI binary drivers. This should be fixed in the next release. The XFree86 drivers should do fine, with both 3D and Wine, though they are a little slower than the ATI binary ones. I don't use Wine/Winex, though, so my 9700 only does the ATI binary dance... I like hardware 3D.
