Linux XORG drivers
if ATI ever reads this forum I want them to know that a lot of people are waiting the release since long time of the ATI's Proprietary Driver for Linux Suse 9.2 ecc ecc. It's very bad to know that Nvidia has done such drivers and Ati still doesn't. I know there are several ways to get installed video drivers on X.Org but it's a very bad pubblicity for ati. There are people that have bought nvidia for this problem. ATI should release such drivers and it's a shame that i've payed 150 euro for an ati card and the company hasn't realesed an updated driver for linux. are we in a microsoft world that rules over hardware? ATI come on do them!

64-bit drivers are a much higher priority than silly X-org support. Besides, the current driver works with xorg 6.7.x ......
Oh yeah, shouldn't this be posted in the Linux forum?

A List of things that are *needed* for ATi's linux drivers to even come close to being on par with nVidia's
- X.org Support - Downloads of Multiple Package Types (ie. Debian Packages aswell as Redhat) - 64bit Support - A nicer Installer - A Control Panel of Some sort! I was amazed to see that nVidia's control panel that features in window dirvers is also present in their Linux drivers; I'm a very anti-nvidia-for-gfx person; but well they've done a great job! - Support for features like AI and TAA - More Performance! I know linux still plays Second fiddle to windows in the corporate and profitability realm (I'm not talking about OS sales an d system sales - but rather Graphics cards sales; if ATi does'nt ever produce another linux driver - will that stop them from being a profitable company when just about everyone uses windows? I think not) But you guys really need to update the drivers; maybe you already have and are going to give them to us as a Chirstmas pressie Please!
