Try number 2. I have two things to say and it goes like this: Gentoo is soo much simpler than it looks and damn is it easy to configure your video card under this distro. An emerge here, opengl update there and voila! Gaming action in under 30 minutes (depending on missing dependancies). Everything works off the bat and if anything doesn't work, follow the gentoo wiki and voila again. I'm soo happy now. CS:S is running arround 25 - 35 FPS (DXLEVEL 70) at 1280x1024 on CS_COMPOUND under Cedega 4.3.0. Now if only I could get the mic to work under cedega... hehehe

The good news is that using radeonfb vs vesafb is that there are no MTRR problems to fix ![]() Good thing I got this working as my GF really hates crappy looking things - and text scrolling by before X loads is .... well ..... crappy!
