Mobility Radeon X700 support in fglrx 8.10.19?

I'm having troubles getting Xorg 6.8.2 up and running with the 8.10.19 fglrx module. I'm using kernel 2.6.11.3 on an Acer Travelmate 8104WLMi (Intel 915PM chipset).

Xorg's log indicates that 0x5653 is an unknown chip ID. Also, the Mobility Radeon X700 isn't listed after the "ATI Radeon/FireGL: The following chipsets are supported:" message. I've tried hardcoding a bunch of other ChipIDs in xorg.conf, but only get a black screen that I have to ctrl-alt-backspace out of.

The ATI website lists the MRX700 as being supported by fglrx 8.10.19, however the above would suggest otherwise. I've asked ATI via their support queue, but only received auto-replies.

Does anyone here know the status of MRX700 support in fglrx?

As you pointed out, there is no current support for your specific chip ID. All we can hope is that support for it will be added in the next release. Sorry for not being able to help any more
