Mcb is on a distinguished road

1) After less than 15mins playing some mp3 in iTunes, the sound started distorting, making a lot of noise. After reboot everything go fine, but again after some time the distortion begins. This seems to get worse if I don't reboot the system, the distortion evolve to a point where if I play a music, it doesn't sound like a music at all, making intermittent noises.
2) The volume in the menu bar doesn't work. In fact it works only for mute the sound. To change the master volume I have to go in System Preferences -> Sound. No big deal.

Hackingtosh using AITKOS v4i with vanilla kernel
Audigy 2 ZS
Using stereo configuration

Hope I can help with something, I will be glad to provide any useful information.

Cool!

EDIT:
1) After installation, immediately sound started on Leopard! (Rear L&R with woofer only) + (built-in sounds only)

2) 5.1 speakers have to be remapped to make it sound correct (in Utilities\Audio Midi Setup.app):
6: Sub Woofer
3: Front Left
5: Front Center
4: Front Right
1: Rear Left
2: Rear Right

3) Change to speaker config (in Audio midi.app), Disables Audio (only after restart, rear left and rear right + woofer works)
(user speaker settings reset on reboot??? shows ok in midi audio setup.app after reboot, don't have kXmixer to solve this )

4) Mcb's issues confirmed! LEO4ALL V3 / 0350 A2ZS

5) Any audio plays for about 5 minutes and then gradually starts distorting till it completely becomes "mute"
(restart brings the sound back in the rear speakers). Issue confirmed with mp3 and mid files.

6) System Profiler reports "no built-in Audio" and "This computer does not appear to have any PCI cards installed."

7) In Audio Midi Setup.app, under 48000 Hz, only channel 1 and 2 are adjustable... (after setting speaker to 5.1 and remapping). All other channels with "M" are grayed out (disabled)

8) Cannot post any topic under Mac OSX! Post in General Discussions?

my Card is Audigy Chip Number: EMU10K2

i must change to speaker config (in Audio midi.app)

no input.

The sound quality is great!

but after 5,6 min starts distorting till it completely becomes "mute".

I test it in Reason, and get 8 channels, and 1ms of latency.

Not working just yet.

Fantastic progress so far, thank you so much.

I can report these drivers work initially, but after around 10 minutes, sound distorts until mute.

I am running IATKOS 4i
Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro - using optical output.

Hope to see this working soon, but I know this is alpha, and you've done brilliantly!

E,

First, congrats for the awesome achievement.

Reporting working driver for analog outputs on an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum SB0350 EMU10k2 in both 5.1 sound config and (simultaneously) on frontal panel line output, on Mac OS X 10.5.4.

As others reported, audio gets distorted after some time -- like about 4 mins playing -- but gets back normal in less than a minute if left playing (isn't driver running out of clock sync?). After this happens 3-4 times, sound is completely distorted, and a kextunload/kextload is mandatory.

No remapping needed for speakers on Audio MIDI Setup.app.

Keep up the good work.

Any Paypal account for donations? You sure deserve it.

Cheers.

Евгений! Спасибо за нелегкую работу!

Я тестирую кекст на Creative Live 5.1 (2003 год выпуска).
Звук начинает хрипеть примерно через 2 минуты.

Железо: Core2Duo 6400 Asus P5B-E, 4gb ram GF 7900GS 256.

Кстати создал обсуждение на Applelife Революция с картами Creative! - AppleLife
Заглядывай туда почаще!
Спасибо!
