I've just tried this new one, don't know whether it's just me but the volume sounds increasingly loud compared to the windows emu driver I have to turn the single channels far down in audio midi setup otherwise it just clips my speakers.

I'm pretty sure the last driver wasn't as loud. Anyone else get this?

Hi, Eugene!

Got 10.6.2, SB Live! 5.1

1. kX Manager and AC97 NOT working, even in 32-bit mode (.app properties)
2. Some flickerings from speakers
3. When using SoundFlower w/AU Lab for multichannel 5.1 audio, sound sometimes crashes, should re-launch SoundFlower.

But anyway, nice work, stay tuned!

says that no device is found.. tried restarting, fixing permissions.. no luck..

ac97 will only work for people with ac97 codec on their live/audigy
it is quite rare thing these days

I doubt I will support 10.5: I don't have it anymore

I don't have 10.6 (i got my system running osx through distros preloaded with drivers). Installing 10.6 will be pain

not all my hardware is 10.6 compatible or has drivers like 10.5. Maybe your guide might help me in someway

i thought those kx manager or ac97 must be something like kX mixer (kxWinDrv) assuming others thought the same

Anyways, I'm ok with the cool 1.3b0

i was messing up with the system, reinstalled it and played with kexts a bit... at some point kx output showed up in system preferences... maybe it was some kext that blocked it, dunno... now everything works like charm... all 4 speakers... thanks a lot!

Driver installs and works great initially. I have a SB Audigy 2 ZS with 10.6.2 btw.

After about a good 2 or 3 minutes of use, faint crackles begin to start, then become heavier and eventually overtake the quality of the sound. Shortly after this the card is unable to produce any sound at all. It's almost like a slow death. Works great, then after persistent use, breaks down until you cant hear anything, and stays like that until reboot.

edit: quick workaround is to launch console and kextunload/kextload the driver after failures, saves from having to reboot.

edit2: the workaround seems to last for a while, its been a few since I used the command to reload the driver. Doesn't seem to be a time specific bug, but more random if anything. I'll keep this log updated.

edit3: I should rather say the bug is not random, the sound pretty much fails after about 8 or 10 minutes; then requires a kextload-kextunload to get the sound working again. Sort of annoying, but livable. It'll be awesome when this bug is fixed. I wish I knew more about programming this sort of stuff otherwise I would help!

Yes I have reported this before here.
I am now convinced it is a scale issue as with volume on minimum it is way too loud but volume maximum doesn't get much louder. The only workaround for me is to use shift-alt-volume keys to adjust the volume in quarter increments. So 0.25 (out of 16.0) is about all my ears can handle. There may be a register for it somewhere we can chagen with edspctrl but i've yet to find it. (havent really tried to hard though

Privet Eugene, Hello everybody!

My system:
- kx driver 1.11b0 (also was tested with 1.3b0 driver)
- Snow Leopard Retail 10.6.1 in 32bit mode (boot from Chameleon)
- SB0350 (Audigy 2 ZS)
- EM8960 (EMU 1616)
- EMU\Creative sounds cards used separately

Results:
- "EMU 1616" working: channels 1-2, 2-3, 4-5 and SPDIF sounds audio (tested using Soundflower and AULab). SPDIF supply correct clock and it recognized by external hardware (tested with Lexicon MX300)
- No sound in "Audigy 2 ZS" (tested after physically swapping with EMU1616 PCI card, not simultaneously)

But, when "edspctrl" launched, sound appears from all 8 channels for a moment (1-2 seconds) and then gone leaving noticeable background phone\noise. It can be reproduced on every "edspctrl" launch.

Logs shows that Audigy 2 ZS device recognized:

Installed kxdrivers 1.11b. dmg on mac osx 10.6.2. Have emu 0404 pci card(this is a windows cpu P5KC mac is third osx on front drive for now)all set up in windows. has recognised pci 0404 and in audio and midi settings have speaker settings but no sound on test. I am completely new to mac.I recently installed erthernet card to get broadband up and working in mac works fine and recognises usb no probs just no sound . I am presuming this is a driver problem . I also have Realtek on board hd audio. should i disable this or would it be easyer to installed semi pro card with mac drivers. Any help or advice would be greatfully received.

bingo!!!!! type in 'edspctrl' in terminal ,i know have sound and i am receiving sound to my speakers: Edidol MA-15D ,, from the optical output of my EMU 0404 pci card " top job eugene".
Next i dont have a Daw installed yet. and there no kx editor i can see ? or do you use terminal to set this up?
i am not up on programing, but i just read some basic on linux and how to use terminal. I need some Guidance or direction as where to look.
ps i will be donating this has saved me a knew semi pro sound card.

SB0100 (detected as SB0102, just like in Windows)
works fine oob

driver sets SBLive as a default sound output device on system load, êàêáå ãîâîðÿ î òîì, ÷òî ïîñòàâèë äðàéâåð - èçâîëü èñïîëüçîâàòü. that annoys sometimes, but as SBLive sounds much better than ALC1988B, i'll use it right until purchasing something really cool. :3

another bug found: SIDPLAY plays only in left channel while onboard soundcard plays both.

Audigy 2 ZS, sound "works" i use the digital output, but i dont get any digital signal, i have sound, but its not digital(z-5500 encoder say that)
next problem i cant open the kx Manger...nothing happen when i double click it

But there is critical problem with kxAudio Driver 1.11b0 on Show Leopard and Lion:

1. Skype crashes after 3 seconds after start. Can't use at all.
2. There is no any microphone in Sounds settings window.

Please fix the issue with Skype and no microphone. When you will do it or we need to buy another sound card? Thanks!

I have a sb0350 and I have success in recognising the card in the system preferences as a kx sb0350 10k2 [d000] but i don`t have any sound at all! Here are my other specs: ga-g31m-es2l; Q8300; asus 9800gt; sb0350 and running 10.6.8. I have disabled my onboard audio and removed all old kext such as Voodoo...

i installed kXAudioDriver-1.11b0.dmg on sounds i can see my soundcard emu 0404 but with no audio,also i can't open kX AC97.app and kX Manager.app.Any help?

Your card is NOT E-DSP, you don't need to run edspctrl.
Verify 'swap front and rear' option: it is off on macs by default and on on Windows.
(You need to use kxctrl for changing the option).
