I can actually get 4.2 out of this rig (E7200, Alpine 7 Pro). But the voltages and temps... you don't wanna know :P

Not really lol, but the temps are low at least. I used to run 24/7@4.2 and it would idle under 30C and hit around 55C load. I'll probably pop in an Ivy Bridge CPU or if i find someone selling a 2500K/2600K used that is able to run at nearly 5ghz I'll go for that.

Bad times man. Oh well, still a dream CPU :P

Will it run at nice low voltages at that speed?

Yea, pretty much. With 2 different MB's it just won't go higher. I messed with everything from multiplyer, blk to LLC and all that stuff no dice. If I OC it past 4.2 the bios usually doesn't load due to OC'ing failure or it will try and fail. Really high voltages don't seem to matter I guess it's just not a fantastic chip.

How come your 2500K won't go any higher? You OCing just with multiplier bumps and voltage?
