Mobility 9200 Problem
Hi Everyone,
I own a Compaq Presario X1000 with an ATI Radeon Mobility 9200 built in (Windows XP Pro). I am currently having great difficulty installing the latest Omega drivers for my video card. I have: 1. uninstalled the drivers 2. used Driver Cleaner to clean all the ATI components (except IGP) in safe mode 3. rebooted in normal 4. installed drivers I even tried to install the drivers using the official catalyst from ATI and the DH Mod Tool. But I keep getting the same problem: Right after the startup logo for Windows, the screen is divided into 4 sections filled with weird fuzzy patterns. Imagine your screen divided into 4 boxes with the top-left box containing what should be the bottom-right of your monitor, top-right box contain what should be the bottom-left, etc. while you have large black lines all over the screen. And this is when the situation is good. Sometimes, all I see is a white line that slowly appears on the screen...Nothing else. I am getting very frustrated and it seems I might be the only one that might've experienced this problem (through searches) in this forum. If anyone have any ideas of why it's not working or ways to make it work, I would really appreciate it if you'd let me know. Thanks in advance. |

Hmm, that's odd.
Do you have the latest BIOS for that laptop? also, do the "normal" drivers work ok? I mean the ones comming from HP directly.

Yea, the normal drivers work ok and I do have the latest bios. As of right now, I've given up trying to use the Omega drivers and am just sticking with the ones provided by HP. Thanks.

I have same problem on my HP nx7000 it has same card. HP drivers are work good but they too old. Catalyst don't have drivers for my card. Omega driwers do not working correct it like stereo picture. It's twice.

Mod Catalyst 5.6. Catalyst versions 5.7+ all have issues with recognising the screen for the X1000 series notebooks. And don't worry if it says it's installing a Mobility Radeon 9000; that is what your card actually is.

I have the same problem in my HP nx7010 laptop. The problem is that the driver recognizes the monitor as CRT display. I’ve tried to find a way to change this but I’ve managed nothing. Maybe we should email omega drive to fix the problem.
