Problems with Mobility Radeon X1600 256MB

I recently purchased a Asus A6Ja notebook with a Mobility Radeon X1600 256MB GDDR3 (512MB HyperMemory) card/chip.

It all works well, performs well, etc. But in the games i have played i'm getting textures that suddenly disappears and either turns totally black/white or some color that does not fit into the graphic surroundings. The textures doesn't stay that way, they just flicker that way and get normal again when my player/car is moving...

The games i have tested with are: World of Warcraft, Elder Scrolls Oblivion, NFS Most Wanted.

I'm running in 1280x800 resolution, which is my notebooks native resolution.

I've tried the drivers that shipped with the notebook (Asus modified drivers for Mobility X1600 based on Catalyst 6.1 it seems), Catalyst 6.3 (modded to work with Mobility chips), Omega 6.2, DHzer0point 6.2 and 6.3. The same errors in all drivers. I've tried with and without FSAA/Aniso/Adaptive AA, same errors...

I've used ATITool to check for artifacts. It has runned for like 1 hour at standard clock (452/702) without finding any artifacts at all. I've also tried to run the test with the gpu/memory overclocked at 520/780 for 1+ hour, and it did not find any artifacts at all then either.

I get the same texture errors/artifacts when i play the games both in standard clock and overclocked mode. I get no other artifacts/display errors at all!

I've checked the temperatures of the X1600 chip with Everest, and it idles at around 66-68 celsius, and in full load after an hour (with atitool scanning for artifacts, which stresses the card at max) it's around 80-83 celsius in temperature.. It does not go any higher than that, since at 83 celsius the fans starts rev'ing up to get rid of hot air and then calms down again when the X1600 is down to 78 celsius.

Any idea what this could be?
