.net breaks applications! help!

I have a Uniwill 258KA0 laptop with an ATI Radeon 9700 GPU 128 Mb Video Ram. I can get the Catalyst Mobility 6.3 drivers to install but the .net framework needed for the Catalyst Control Center to function breaks many other applications (Nero InCD is just one in the list but probably the most important to me.) I need the updated drivers to resolve DVD playback and other issues (PhotoShop Gamma adjustments etc...) the original drivers have. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
