Straange problems with my Acer laptop and my x700!

I got a Acer Aspire 5021Wlmi laptop...

I used to have it connected to my Sony LCD 32" with a D-SUB/VGA cable as my external monitor. The highest resolution the LCD can take is 1280x768... And It worked perfectly....

UNTIL....

I formated the harddrive and reinstalld XP Home...

* With ATIs original drivers I could only get picture on the tv if i chosed resolution 1024x768. The closest I could get to 1280x768 was 1280x800, but with no picture.

* With DH Omega driver (the latest) I thought the problem should me solved when I saw that I could chose 1280x768 res at the secondary monitor setting.
BUT!
There is no picture. The monitor says: "Wrong signal frequens".
Still the monitor only accepts 1024x768 and 800x600.

I have tested with another Acer laptop, an TravelMate with a a lot cheeper Geforce graphiccard, and with that one it works perfectly!

So it can't be the tv thats the problem...

The strange thing is just that it worked fine before i formated and reinstalled XP....

Oneone know what to do???

if you have the CCC installed have you tried the option to force 1280x768 HDTV resolution?

Ok... I'll try that when I'll get the computer back from Acers Repaircenter in Germany.
I was so fed up with the problem so I send it there today
