Mobility Radeon 7500 IBM Thinkpad Widescreen

Greetings,

Thank you for considering helping. I have a new IBM Thinkpad T42 model with an ATI Mobility Radeon 7500. The display setting I'm looking for in regard to my Dell widescreen LCD plugged into my docking station is 1280x768. On my old T41 Thinkpad and a Radeon 9000, I did have 1280x768 available. But with my new T42 and its Radeon 7500, I cannot seem to find drivers that will allow for the widescreen option of 1280x768.

Do you know of any drivers for the 7500 that will load and get me the 1280x768 setting?

Thank you,
Jim

Omega's drivers support this resolution.

Try Omega's Catalyst 6.1, there the ones I'm currently using since the newer Catalyst's seem to give me errors during install. I double checked on my own desktop and it does support 1280 x 768, hope that helps. You can try the newer Cat's if you want, hopefully they work better for you. =)

Checked your unit at Lenovo, the latest driver version from them is just a bit more recent than the Catalyst 5.5s available here: Radeon 7500 drivers for T42

They should give you the best functionality for your laptop without issues - hopefully they would support your Dell LCD connected to your docking station at the resolution of 1280x768 - have you tried them?

I just wanted to give an update. The Omega Catalyst 6.1 has been working great. It was perfect for my Thinkpad. When I dock, it's automatically setting my Display configuration to 1280x768, and undocked it switches to 1024x768. I don't have to do anything. Nice piece of software. thank you someONEgood. That really worked well!
