Win2000 & Mobility Radeon 7500

I have just finished a fresh install of Windows 2000 pro on a Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook-E 7010. It has ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 which was working ok before, now i cant get it to work at all!
I have tried the drivers from the manufacturers website, from the ATI website, and from the Omega website.
When i try the ATI Catalyst drivers, from ATI and from the manufacturer,the installation stops and says that it cannot copy certain files like atimtag.sy_ , when i cancel the installation i get a message saying that i need to install the standard VGA adapter first, but this is already installed. I have tried the Omega drivers, they installed ok, but didnt seem to work, it showed up in device manager as ATI Mobility 7500, but i could not make any changes to the screen size ect and there were no display options, just 16-bit colour and 600x480 or 800x600, the same as the standard vga adapter.
I have tried installing/uninstalling in safe mode and VGA mode.
Can anyone help me with this?

You may need to apply the latest chipset drivers from your manufacturer to get the Omega's to work right...

Hi, thanks for your reply.

I cant actually install the manufacturers drivers, thats the problem. I have tried the latest drivers from the manufactureras well as previous versions of the drivers.

So what i need help with really is getting the manufacturers drivers to work before i can attempt to use any other drivers.
