Amilo X700 and NWN HOU crash

Hi all,
I recently bought a new laptop, with the idea of playing NeverWinter Nights (NWN) on line while on a long trip or on holidays.
With that idea on my mind, i bought what looked like a powerful laptop, with 1 GB of RAM, an x700 ATI and 512 MB of RAM on the graphic card.
What was my surprise when i installed NWN and tried to play it...
Just after the main menu, when you click at the "PLAY" button, the game crashes, with a windows xp crash message (in Spanish)... you can't even see the animations before the next menu... just crash...

I have tried everything i know.... New Omega drivers... uninstalled and reinstalled the game, even cleaning with regedit...putting down resolutions and all the specs on OpenGL and at the game... it always crashes at the same place...
I have verified that the original NWN, even with the SOU expansion updated at the last version, work fine on my laptop.
The moment I install the HOU expansion, at any version (i have tried several of them), when i launch it it crashes....

Of course, i have been playing NWN HOU for years, and on my desktop they work perfectly...

My specs are the following:

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2
FUJITSU SIEMENS Amilo M1437 Series

CPU x86 Family 6 Model 13 Stepping 8 GenuineIntel ~1866 MHz

BIOS Versión/date American Megatrends Inc. 1.10C, 2005/10/05

Total RAM 1.024,00 MB
