Radeon mobility 9600: Problem with screen resolution when connecting to LCD TV

Hi!
I have a HP Compaq nc8000 notebook.
My graphics card is ATI Radeon mobility 9600.

I have my Compaq nc8000 connected with VGA to my LCD TV (Samsung LE40R51). The TVīs maximum screen resolution is 1366 x 768.
My problem is that I canīt find that resolution on my computer. I can choose between 1024x768, 1280x1024 or 1400x1050.

I have tried to run in cloned mode, dual screens and with only the LCD TV but I still cant find the 1360x768 resolution.

I have installed the latest drivers (not so new) from HP for my graphics card, BIOS and Chipset.

Anyone know how to get the screen resolution to 1360x768 (or 1366x768)?
I donīt want to use Powerstrip if i dont have to (have never tried it)...Please help!

Hey Tony12, welcome to the forums...

Unfortunately, I've never heard of any driverset that supports that exact resolution. What driverset are you using now, and what resolutions does it support?

Driversets are beginning to accomodate HDTV output resolutions, but your particular TV's native resolution isn't exactly 720 or 1080 anyway (which are the standard HDTV display resolutions...). Looks like Powerstrip is the way to go for you to match exactly to your TV, unless you modify the .inf installation files for the driverset you are using... Powerstrip is easy to use, BTW...

The latest Catalyst's (6.4) look to support 1360x768 as an output resolution - which is very close to your TV's native resolution. You could try using the latest Omegadrivers, or ATI's Catalyst with the DH Mobility Modder, but do some reading in the forums here to learn the procedures for uninstall/install and be aware that you may lose the ability to play DVDs/AVI's smoothly with any modded driverset.
