Cant Get it to Work

Hi, i have recently started downloading Everquest and after i download the disks and the patch and i press play, it says: you currently have a ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9000 IGP (6.14.10.6458) video card installed. Download drivers 6575 before playing Everquest. Then when i go to the website i cant find 6575 so i download the Catalyst 6.5 Windows XP - Driver Download and halfway in between the download there is an error that says: INF error, try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup.
This has me confused and i dont know where to begin. please help

system information

system model: toshiba satellite p35
processor: mobile intel pentium 4 CPU 3.46GHz
directx version: directx 9.0c
display device: ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9000 IGP
Internal DAC (400 MHz)
main driver: ati2dvag.dll
version: 6.14.0010.6458

im lost and in need of help, thank you

Newer drivers for older notebook chipsets.

Hello:

The normal ATI Catalyst drivers don't have the notebook chipsets in the primary INF file...for technical reasons. ATI doesn't support older notebook chipsets like the 9000 series.

There still is hope. When you downloaded and ran the ATI install program, it should have unpacked the drivers in c:\ATI\support\....etc

If you download patje's mod tool from http://www.hardwareheaven.com/patje you can use the program to modify the driver's INI and INF files so that they will install. This should do the trick. You could also try two more driver options:

Omega's Drivers at http://www.omegadrivers.net

or you could try a Catalyst Mobility 5.13 driver that was discovered by a fellow member Alexl55 at station-drivers. You can find a copy here:
http://www.station-drivers.com/telec...-2kxp-whql.exe
or if the link no longer works, you can find it here:

Good luck, and take care,
Randomness
