Mobility 7500 multi monitor issues...please help

I am running the current version of Omega drivers with my m7500, but am having some trouble getting some functions to work the way I would like. My first monitor (obviously the laptop) is running at 1600x1200, and my second is my hdtv that is running at 1920x1080. I would like to run my TV as an extended desktop for running movies, however because it is not the primary display some files will not show up unless i move them over to my laptop screen. I have tried setting my tv as the primary monitor but it won't let me set it to 1920x1080, not even if i completely turn off the laptop lcd. Any suggestions? It would be preferable to be able to simply play all my media on the TV as an extended desktop, but if there is another option, i'm open.

System Specs

Hello:

This is a tricky issue because Microsoft reports that some movie playback is not possible (for ... copyright reasons i suppose) or rather not easy.... on secondary displays.

It sounds like the configuration file doesn't have a big enough resolution for and external display. I would recommend looking for a program that enables additional resolutions such as RadLinker. I would also recommend setting the allocated (if possible) graphics memory to 128MB in the BIOS. If you don't have the option, or current memory allocation for your graphics chip, there won't be enough memory for the framebuffers to run two displays at those resolutions.

There could also be a BIOS update that may help correct your current resolution support issue.

I would recommend trying to use the original OEM drivers that came with your notebook, and manually updating them once your system has the LCD and external monitor ports mapped from the OEM driver. You would manually update the drivers through Device Manager and using the "update driver" option.
Good luck, and take care.
