Mobility X1400 drivers?

Hi, hopefully this should be a simple question. I have just bought a laptop with a Mobility X1400 graphics chip. In any case, looking at the ATI/AMD web site for the Mobility X1400 it's not at all clear (to me) which driver I can use? This appears to be where I should go, but this only provides a utility for checking compatibility. For various reasons (namely that the laptop hasn't arrived yet and I will have extremely limited time to set it up when it does) I would very much like a link to the latest full blown driver.

Also while I do prefer official ATI drivers for my systems (mainly due to some negative experiences with other 'custom drivers') I am curious as to what my driver options are? Do the OMEGA drivers work? Or is there something else that might be useful?

OK, something else I have found is that the manufacturer drivers for this laptop are really damn confusing.

It's a Toshiba Satellite A100-225 - but the manufacturer's web site has at least 3 versions of the A100-225 listed - and even then there are a zillion different downloads listed for each version.

How can I know what are and aren't the appropriate drivers to download from this pretty jumbled up mess?

Again any input would be very much welcomed.

I know you mentioned you have limited time, and considering this I would go with the manufacturers supplied drivers. Not sure if its got an auto detect tool, but some do. Getting the exact model and name would help in choosing the correct driver.

If and when you have more time, i would download all the tools available (all the different drivers from the manufacturer, omega, and the mod tool+ati driver) install them all and run some benchmarks to determine what one performs better. Also using each driver in the actual game can help you determine the best driver to use.

If you install multiple drivers, use the add/remove to remove the old driversbefore installing new ones. Also run the driver cleaner program to stop the auto installing of the old drivers. Erase all folders of extracted drivers from you hard drive and delete from the recycle bin.
