XPS Gen1 Mobility Radeon 9800 issue involving Oblivion

Hey guys,

I just recently reformatted and reinstalled my Dell Inspiron XPS Gen1 3.4Ghz, 1g ram, 256mb Mobility Radeon 9800 Laptop. I installed the 3.8.273 Omega drivers right off. Last night I tried installing and running Oblivion and there seems to be a problem I can't really understand. When I try to run it, it doesn't even get to any of the splashscreens. Screen will go black, have an hourglass for maybe 3 seconds and then will drop out to windows with one of those send/don't send errors. I tried installing the Oblivion 1.1 patch and setting it to the Very Low graphics settings and still same problem. Just wondering if anyone out there with similar Gen 1 XPS unit using the omegas had the same issue and managed to figure it out.
