Hello:
The LCD backlight is not controlled by the ATi driverset. You may want to check your BIOS settings. You can enter your BIOS when you computer is first turned on, usually by pressing either F1, F2 or the del key. I would also checking to make sure the lid switch is functioning correctly and there isn't anything preventing it from working properly. The switch is usually well hidden in the hings of the LCD lid. If your computer has some form of advanced power management software from its manufacturer, you may also want to check those settings, which can normally be found either in Windows Control Panel. You could also check the settings of the Windows Power managment applet, in Control panel, under Advanced, to see what the settings are for "When i close the lid of my portable computer." But i don't think that setting is directly responsible for shutting off the backlight when the LCD lid is closed. Good luck, and take care. |

If you can't get it to turn off why don't you just force it off after like 5mins or so of no use.
Do this by: 1. Right clicking the desktop 2. Go to Properties 3. Screen saver tab 4. Click the power button the lower right side 5. and adjust your setting as you like I think that should work! Good luck and welcome to Driver heaven |
