OMEGA driving causing BSOD on Radeon 320M
Hi all,
My first post. I recently installed the newest version of Omega driver for ATI. I was so hoping that it would be the all for my quest to play WOW on this laptop until my new desktop arrives in 2 weeks. I installed the software and drivers as per the instructions and I got the blue screen. It was not the software because I uninstalled both and reinstalled one at a time testing whether it would cause a crash. THe Omega driver caused the problem. Is there anyway around this? Thanks for the help. 8) |

Hello CauldronBorn:
The Radeon IGP 320M, as well as most other GPUs older than the Radeon 9500/9600 series are not compatible with Catalyst 6.6 or newer. Try using Omega Drivers based on Catalyst 6.4 instead. You could also try the Mobility Catalyst 5.13b that Alexl55 discovered from here: http://www.station-drivers.com/telec...-2kxp-whql.exe These drivers do not need to be modded. Or you could try the drivers i recently posted here: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/showpost...&postcount=188 I would recommend DriverClean Pro from www.drivercleaner.net before installing the newer drivers. Please also reference: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/showpost...&postcount=154 From my thread, on how to manually install drivers if you run into the infamous "INF" error during installation. Keep in mind that the Radeon IGP 3xxM series do not provide DirectX 9.0 Hardware support, and will not play WoW at the quality you may expect from a 9000 series or better. However, it has been reported that WoW is playable on this chipset series with the newer modded drivers. Good luck, and take care. |
