ati mobility 9200 radeon external monitor resolution problem

Hello,

I own a "Sony Vaio S1VP" laptop that comes with a ATI Mobility 9200 Radeon graphics card installed. I'm using the driver that came with the laptop.

I plugged in a external TFT "Samsung 940BW" where the optimal resolution is 1400x900. My problem is that I cannot select this option on my graphic card settings- I just goes 1600x1200 - this also works but the picture on the external TFT is bad.

What can I do? Is the graphic card good enough the work with my standard resolution on the sony lcd and the external monitor on the same time? Currently the Sony LCD does well while the external runs on 1600x1200.

How can I select "1400x900" ? Is there any chance?

Best wishes

System Specs

A program called Powerstrip is available that might help - its been around a long time and supports a wide range of resolutions, in addition to allowing for the making of custom resolutions - give that a shot.
