mobility radeon 9000+driver update problem
when i update my old 4.6 catalyst drivers. directdraw, direct3d, agp acceleration is disablet i have tried every thing netmeeting thing different drivers.... what can i do to fix this problem? is it even possible to get new drivers to work. Can some one tell me where to get new motherboard drivers or is bios drivers the same? because from compaqs site i only found bios update drivers
comp: Compaq evo n800w, P4 2ghz, 512ram, mobility radeon 9000 64mb, directx 9.0c, winXP professional+sp2 Extra question: I have problems to get sof2 working on this comp, when i start the game the console comes and the game loads a while then i get error sof2.exe has encouter... (the windows one) what might be the reason for this? could new display drivers fix this problem. Last edited by Mr.Jope; Dec 26, 2006 at 04:43 PM. |

What version of the ATI Catalyst driverset did you install? Also, I hope you meant that you installed the .Net 1.1 or 2.0 software - Netmeeting won't help your video drivers.
It does appear you may need a chipset update for the mainboard in your laptop. Admittedly, the support page at Compaq for your laptop is lacking the mainboard drivers and any video driverset updates... I did notice though that your laptop uses the Intel 845mp chipset. The latest mainboard chipset driver is item #4 in the list of files on this page: http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scri...4&submit=Go%21 You could try installing that file from Intel to update the chipset drivers, although there is no real way to know it will work unless you try it and check, or find someone else with the same model laptop that can tell you for sure that they tried it and it works.

The blue screen likely has something to do with the Catalyst Control Panel (requires .Net 1.1 or 2.0 to work) or the older Control Panel (depending your driverset) having a problem initializing. Do you have .Net software installed?

I have similar problem with yours. My graphic card is Radeon Mobility 9200, and recently i installed the omega 3.8.330, and all the direct3d direct draw in dxdiag submenu has been diabled. did you find anything that can solve this problem? or which omega should i use best for my graphic card?
