Mobility Radeon 9800 Blank Monitor

Hi all,
I recently updated my drivers, as Day of Defeat source was messing up bigtime, and the only thing suggested by the valve system analyzer was that my drivers were severly out of date (version from oh, 2004 haha) and I figured it couldn't hurt.... I downloaded the ones from dell, but, they don't keep their video drivers that up to date, I think it was the same version that I already had on my lappy (Dell Inspiron 9100) so that didn't help much. After installing them, I looked around for others, but the ATI system tool wasn't compatable with dell, so I got the Omega drivers as I've read good things about them. That was yesterday (Friday) and they worked great, DOD never crashed or had any of the problems that I was having. However, when I turned on my computer today (Saturday), the screen keeps going blank right after I turn it on. This really confused me, as I rebooted a few times yesterday with no problem. I've tried going into set up (f2) and safe mode (f8), but both are blank as well. I believe it is still booting up correctly, and the screen flickers every once in a while, but nothing ever happens on the monitor aside from that. I'll try to give the best system specs I can, if I left anything important out feel free to ask, any help would be greatly appreciated...

Dell Inspiron 9100
Mobility Radeon 9800
Newest Omega drivers (downloaded them from the main site yesterday)
3.2 processor
1g ram
Newest directx (9.0c or something, updated thursday to try to fix the problems w/ dod)

Thanks for any help ahead of time, I'm stumped.

Update:
I infact was able to uninstall the omega drivers as I realized while trying safe mode that the screen is in fact loading, it is just terribly dim. I have to strain my eyes and adjust to it for a sec to see it, but its there. The brightness adjustor (Fn and arrow up/down) doesn't do anything that I can tell, but it may just be a relatively small change due to the darkness of the screen. I have no idea what is wrong, whether something in my monitor burnt out or what, and this may actually not be the place to ask this question now, but if any of you have an idea what this could be, that could lead me in the right direction. Thanks again for any help.

System Specs

It looks like a coincidence with the installation of the Omegadriver set, but the backlight of your LCD is not turning on. This could be due to the inverter (the high voltage source for the backlight in the LCD panel) or the LCD panel itself - I'm willing to bet all is well on an external monitor...

Is your Dell still under warranty?
