How do I update Radeon 7500c for widescreen monitor?

Please help! I just got a new 19" ViewSonic widescreen monitor. I then found out that my 5 year old laptop, Dell Inspiron 4150 with a Mobility Radeon 7500c won't support the widescreen resolution.

I went to ATI's site and download a driver update, but I think it was the wrong item. As it began to install, it said that the video driver it was looking for was not found.

Can anyone please tell me how I can update my computer to use the widescreen monitor?

there was no need to post he same topic twice.......

i am not sure that the card can display in widescreen, it is extremely old, driver support for it ended a while ago. normally i would tell you to upgrade to a better card but as its a laptop you cant.

maybe someone else here might have something useful to use
