Noob Needs Help

I have always had trouble with drivers on my computer. Mainly because not many people run the computer I do so its hard to find the information. I have been using the omega drivers for a while now but I have run into a problem and I need a driver that supports WHQL.

I want to do this correctly this time.
Please tell me what drivers i should download.
How I should go about installing them.
I don’t want to pay 10$ for the driver cleaner.
Maybe I should stick with omega? is there anyway around the WHQL?
What is the most popular driver for the Video card im using?
Please give me links and inform me on any other information you think I should know.

Catalyst® Mobility 7.3 Display Driver for Windows XP Professional/Home Edition

These are from ATI's site, and should be WHQL. Good Luck!
