ATI 200M and Pixel Shader 3.0 support
I know that ATI Radeon Xpress 200M support pixel sahder 2.0, but is there something that one can do so that this card supports the shader 3.0?
Thanks a lot for your help! |

I think that it would require a hardware change in the GPU itself, therefore I guess it's not possible.

ATI 200M and Pixel Shader 3.0 support
Thanks for your quick answer, RoyBatty. That means I can not play any game with the Shader 3.0 or higher... or is there any other solution to play this kind of games?

I'm sorry to say there is not much you can do other than buying a new board or an add-in gfx card. However, just because a game says it supports ps3 doesn't mean you can't run it; you just wont see any extra effects that ps3 provides

Most games are backwards capatible like dipstick says,
While a game was designed and intended to run on a more update to date graphics system, usually every game comes with the ability to drop down to a lower standard, just recently more and more games are dropping pixel shader 1.3/1.4 support graphics cards, bare minimum today is usually 2.0 and up (radeon 9500 series and newer or Geforce 6 and up)
