Radeon + Vista user with Radeon 9250s and lower!

Still want to use Vista even on a ATI graphics that is officially NOT SUPPORTED?

Even if you don't get Aero, or even any decent 3D performance?

Just to get More supported Resoltuions, or set the native resolutions?

In the case that many toshiba or Acer and other laptops/notebooks that i've come across with vista, i've a possible solution for you.

First find out PRECISELY which mobility Radeon you have.

Secondly,

Go into the Device manager and go to your unrecognized Adapter.

Right click, Click update driver, and then select Browse my computer for Driver Software

Next click Let Me Pick from a list

UNCHECK show compatible Hardware

From the large list of manufacturers, go to ATI

Under the card listings, scroll down to the specific Family of your mobity radeon.

For example, In the case of the Toshiba that i was using recently, it had a Radeon Mobility 9000, So i picked the following:

RADEON 9000 Family

Select it, install it anyways, and then reboot.

IF you see ANY sign of issues such as Display corruption or other, emediately remove the adapter and reboot.

REMEMBER you take full responcibility for ANY and ALL things that may happen by following these directions.

For Vista 32bit users, you MAY be able to use the Windows XP 32bit Drivers, extract them and then you may have to manually search for the driver for it, you still won't have FULL capabilities, but you'll have at least something.

dasmania_cool is on a distinguished road

Thank you Judas

I've tried your tips and it's work 100% perfect although some feature is not available, but at least I can open Google Earth with directx now. I just wanna know how do we install the driver manually.

Once again, thank you very much
