problem with dual monitors after installing omega drivers v3.8.231
I have e really serious problem any help with be appereciated lost.
I have bought a 19widescreen TFT with 1440x900 resolution to connect on my laptop that uses ati radeon mobility 9200 card that is really outdated thats why i installed omega drivers v3.8.231 in order to get the resolution 1440x900 on my new LCD screen. After installing the drivers i managed to get this resolution but now my laptop screen went black and there is no way to use it as extended desktop. I've tried in the ati control panel but the monitor is not active and i know that these drivers support the 9200 card. Is there anything that can be done? I appreciate your help. |

Greetings and welcome to DriverHeaven!
When you go to the Display Properties/Settings, there should be two images showing for the monitors. Right click on the one that is not Active and select "Attached". That should activate it and then you can select "Extend...." afterwards. If this doesn't help, please post back whether you have installed the Ray Adam's ATI Tray Tool that comes with Omegadrivers. |

I've already tried that but nothing happens the monitor (TFT) just blinks and thats it the other one (laptops) is still not active i really dont have an idea of what could be the problem. The ATI Tray Tools is installed and i can change the resolution of the TFT screen.

I have the same problem with the Omega v3.8.330 driver (XP sp2), Radeon Mobility 7500 chipset and a Samsung SyncMaster 225BW @1680x1050.
If I choose the dual setup and a secondary monitor resolution of 1680x1050 on my DVI output, it does not work. I also get a black primary monitor and a poor result (scaled) on the secondary. Howhever, if I choose secondary monitor at 1440x1050 or 1280x768, the primary monitor works and the secondary monitor delivers a poor result (scaled). This is however the best of the two possibilities Any help is much appreciated - even other driver suggestions. |

Solved!!!I stepped back to the v3.8.252 driver which supports my Radeon Mobility 7500 chipset. I thought this was the problem, but I am not 100% sure of that. BINGO the external resolution ran 1680x1050 AND the primary monitor worked. I then rebooted and the initial boot screens ran the desired resolutions. Powerstip then updated its settings due to my driver "upgrade" - and it all went bad again. The external screen ran with a poor unscaled resolution and the primary monitor was black. I then uninstalled Powerstrip and rebooted. Now everything works like a charm, only running the Omega driver and nothing else. Apparently the two "tools" does not co-exist very well? Running an IBM T41 though a portreplicator II (DVI) to an external monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 225bw) at 1680x1050. |

I have the same problem. I have a mobility 9200 on my HP pavilion laptop. I connecte a new external monitor with 1680x1050. The original driver from HP doesn't support this resolution. Then I install the OMEGA drivers 3.8.252. My 1680x1050 scren work find but the sccren of my laptob is allways black !
If I go on ATi Tray tools Display -> settings Dispaly 1 is on and the on/off button of the display 2 is always not clickable. Any suggestions ? Thank's K-pa |
