Mobility 9200 Catalyst Problem

Hi, i am currently using the 5.3 catalyst for my mobility 9200(or 9000 as it is detecting it as), but i'd like to see how far i can upgrade it. If i try anything above 6.0, it seems to give me a black screen and hangs there before the login screen. I cannot do anything other than enter safe mode and reinstall the default drivers. Is there anyway to work around this? Thanks.

First of all, I need to move this to the Mobility Drivers section. Hopefully, you'll get more replies there.

As I don't use mobility graphics, I can only take a stab at the situation.

As your card is a 9000 series, you already know that support for it stopped quite some time ago. So, if those 5.3 CAT drivers are working, it's best to just stick with what works. I don't think you'll get much more performance from it....if any at all...trying newer drivers.

However, some have stated that the 6.11 version drivers work well. If those act up on your system, I'd definitely just stick with the 5.3s.
