ati mobility x1400 invalid_process_attach_attempt

Hi,

Hope any of the ati gurus can shed some light on this matter.

system specs:
Gateway M285-E laptop
2gig of Ram
ati x1400 mobility card
dual intel 2.16GHz

Drivers tried: All Gateway release drivers, Ati-7.10 using mobility mod, omega 3.8.421. Each installed and removed with driver cleaner to make sure it was done properly.

This is a friends laptop. She's plays a mmo on this laptop and this mmo continually causes the laptop to BSOD with the invalid_process_attach_attempt error. Looking at the minidumps in the windows debugger I see that its the ati2mtag.sys that gets faulted by the game. I can play the same game on my laptop with no issue but I don't have an ati laptop.

We've tried every driver available, although the newest ati-mobility driver won't install on her laptop to test that one. Every single one bsod in this mmo with the same error. Any help on how to resolve this short of saying its the mmo's fault would greatly be appreciated.
We've tried the usual, fast write off, yada yada, made sure was not heat issues. Played with AA, AF, and any other settings in the control panel we could think of. No luck. TIA
