Driver mess (noob)

I have a FS Laptop with a Mobility Radeon x1900. Right after I got it I came here and got the ModTool (altought I'm not sure if that was necessary as the ATI Catalyst Center was already installed) and installed it. Everything worked fine for about a month, until at some point I wanted to change my resolution or something, and noticed that the actual Ati Control Center didn't work anymore. It just wouldn't start.

So I tried installing the drivers again, and ended up uninstalling and installing them a couple of times. Nothing worked and eventually now I'm at the point where the games actually won't work either, they can't find some file from the ATI driver folder etc.

I've tried uninstalling and manually removing files and installing the drivers with and without the modtool but it just won't work. It seems to install fine, but the control center won't start and neither will any modern games.

How can I just backtrack it all back to square one and install it from the scratch?
