ATI Mobility X600 - Possible driver issue
I've been having some display issues with my laptop as of late, as in, the screen goes completely blank after leaving the Windows load-bar screen.
I have checked the ATI website to see if they could help at all, and found this is a known issue, but I have no idea how to go about fixing this. I've tried the Mod Tool from here with a bit of success (The proper settings were shown briefly, then died again), so I figured if anyone can help, it's this community. To quote ATI directly: "Display Goes Blank After Windows Loads or After Installing the Catalyst™ Drivers If your display goes blank after Windows finishes loading or after you install the Catalyst™ display drivers; Your monitor may be connected to the secondary port of the graphics card. By default ATI drivers enable the primary port. Please switch the monitor to the other graphics port and reboot your system. If the issue still exists, please make sure the onboard video (if any) is disabled in device manager or BIOS and all drivers are removed from the system." While this seems to describe my issues perfectly, I can't help but think there's some difference, as my screen seemed to implode on itself during the middle of playing World of Warcraft, instead of after installing a driver update. I know I haven't posted any specifics on my system, but I'm not sure what information is needed, so I'll be happy to post specs if requested. Any help is greatly appreciated. |

Greetings and welcome to DriverHeaven!
Yes, it would be helpful for you to post the model of your laptop. Additionally, have you tried any of the fixes listed? |

I've tried everything I could. Had no luck finding a way to switch the monitor ports though. I'm pretty sure I'm just overlooking something simple with that.
As for the model, it's an HP Pavilion zd8000. Pentium 4 processor, and running Windows XP Professional. |
