ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 problems
I recently bought a Sony Vaio laptop running Vista Home Premium 32-bit and it's been having some display problems. It's using an ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 graphics card and the screen has a high contrast problem which I don't know how to fix. I asked a friend and he said it could be because my laptop is using DirectX 10 and my graphics card is not compatible with it. I'm not that savvy when it comes to stuff like this so any help would be much appreciated.
Oh and the screen looks normal when I try running Warcraft. Everywhere else the screen is messed up though =( ![]()

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!
What driver version you are using? And could you provide more detailed information about your laptop. Model details would help. I think that's statement isn't true at all. I got X1950 Pro and it's DX 9.0c card and it works just fine in Vista. |

Thx for the welcome
![]() The driver version is 8.372.0.0, says it's the latest. Here is the laptop model, I upgraded the RAM to 2GB but everything else should be the same Sony VGN-CR25G It's not a hardware malfunction cause I've swapped the laptop for a new one but it still does the same thing. The sales assistant at the store I bought it from doesn't seem to be of much help at all. I asked them whats wrong with it and they just swap mine for a new one and say it's a software error perhaps. Got tired of going all the way back there just to get it replaced and have the same problem occur again and again. Hope to get this issue fixed as soon as possible or within the next few days at least cause right now I'm in Jakarta visiting parents and I'm flying back to Malaysia soon and I don't think I'm gonna fly all the way here just to get this problem fixed. |

Is your color quality set to 32-bit color?
Right click on the desptop and select display properties. make sure its not set to 16-bit. |

I'd download the most recent ATI drivers, get the DH mobility modder, and reinstall your drivers. See what that gives you.

I think that did the job. My screen hasn't gone all ugly on me so far and hopefully won't again after this. Thank you sooo much for the advice. Seriously, thank you
