Widescreen Output from a T40 (ATI 7500)
I got a new 22" widescreen LCD for Christmas, but I can't for the life of me get my IBM Thinkpad T40, with the ATi Mobility 7500 to output 1680 x 1050 resolution. I installed the Omega Drivers so the resolution is an option, but when I select it, the display is a stretched version of 1680 x 1050. So it pans back and forth by moving the mouse. It's like my widescreen monitor is being recognized as a 4:3 monitor, and it's doing the pan thing to compensate for it. Any Ideas?
My monitor is an Acer AL2216Wbd http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824009094 Thanks |

Hi. My bro had a similar issue with his PC and new 22" Samsung Monitor he got for Christmas.
The problem was that the max supported resolution for the Monitor was recognised as "1920x1080" when it should have been "1680x1050". As he uses custom drivers (Omegas), I had to disable DCC (that detected the max resolution), and manually set max resolution to "1680x1050 @ 60Hz". Don't know why, but was the only thing that worked for me. Good luck!!! cause_of_chaos
