Problem installing Omegadriver: ATI Mobility Radeon 9000
OVERALL PROBLEM:
Hey guys. I've been trying to install the Omegadriver (3.8.252 (Catalyst 6.5), since i know it the last one supporting ATI 9x00 cards) the whole day but after i run the installer and restart my laptop nothing happens, as if i had never installed the drivers, my max resolution is 1024 (instead of 1280) and even if i open dxdiag, there is nothing shown in the display section. MY LAPTOP: I have a Toshiba Satellite A75-S231 with ... Intel Mobile Pentium 4 548 / 3.33 GHz Windows XP Home Edition 1.5 GB RAM ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 IGP WHAT I'VE ALREADY TRIED: So first i uninstalled my last driver using add/delete programs. After that i restarted in Safe-Mode and used Driver Cleaner Platinum Edition 2.1 to uninstall every missing ATI file. I restarted again, this time in normal mode, and tried to install the Omegadrivers (6.5) but as i already said, nothing happened. I tried downloading and installing previous versions of the Omegadrivers but i got the same results. FURTHER PROBLEMS: Well, since i couldnt install Omegadrivers i decided to go back to my previous drivers. I downloaded them from Toshiba page: Toshiba Support - Content Details But in the middle of the installation i get an error saying: "The display driver is not compatible with the display adapters installed in your system". Then i tried with the original ATI driver for ATI Raedon 9000 Catalyst™ 6.11 Drivers and ATI Multimedia Software for Windows XP Professional/Home Edition using the Mobility Modder so that i could work with my Mobility card http://www.hardwareheaven.com/modtool/ but the same problem appeared. I ended up restoring my system to yesterday configuration. Everything is normal now but i still want to install the Omegadrivers so i can play more games on my computer. Does anybody know what i'm doing wrong or whats the problem with my computer? Any help will be appreciated.

Problem solved, apparently i selected the wrong options with the driver cleaner.
After hours serching through the whole forum i finally found a post from Tipstaff in this thread that helped me: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/windows-...tml#post809176Quoting Tipstaff: "2) Run Driver Cleaner, and clean using these options: ATI, ATI CCC, ATI Hydravision, ATI MMC, ATI Remote Wonder, ATI Uninstall Utility, and ATI WDM. Then let Driver Cleaner do it's job. After that, reboot the machine, and again cancel the installation of new drivers." Followed those instructions and now everything works like charm. Thanks Tipstaff
