Mobility Radeon 7500 - Output to 22" Widescreen

Hi,
I have a Dell Inspiron 4150 laptop with Mobility Radeon 7500. I purchased a samsung syncmaster 22" widescreen and was wondering how I can output to this external monitor with a proper widescreen resolution? Does my videocard support this? I don't want the widescreen to go to waste.

I was able to get the driver working using catalyst 6.5. However, when i output to 1680x1050, i get a lot of flickering when it displays colours, especially grays. The monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 225BW. Can anyone provide any suggestions on how I can stop the flickering?
