Mobility Radeon 9000 driver problem

simply don't know where to begin with this..
i have gericom xp home edition and beautiful mobility radeon 9000

i tried to install directx 9.c, but although it said installaton finished successfully, on my dxdiag nothing really changed (directx vesion was still 9b)

then i downloaded driver for mobility radeon 9000 (Advanced Micro Devices Inc. 6-11-pre-r300_xp-2k_dd_ccc_wdm_38185) and during instalation this error is shown: INF error video driver not found. Try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup.. bla bla

then someone told me that i needed to install driver first and then directx 9c. so i found DirectX Eradicator 2.0 to remove this, and it worked pritty fine. now i can't run dxdiag at all!! i presume i've uninstalled directx, right? but it still won't install this driver and the same error is present!

what to do? please help

i see nobody helped here, but i managed to solve this problem on my own.

playing with directx is not recommended. so forget eradictors and tools like that. before updating directx (xp with service pack 1 has directx 8.1) it's much better to install service pack 2 because direct3D will be automatically installed. if that doesn't work windows must he deleted and installed again then graphic card must be updated with proper dirver and then install service pack 2.
