Lost PowerPlay settings.
ATI Mobility x1600
A few months ago I had to use the Omega drivers(not sure what version), so I downloaded and installed them. However I had a problem with some games being forced into "square mode" instead of widescreen for my laptop. When I went to: display properties >> settings >> advanced, there was tab/button called "PowerPLay". When I used this I could increase my battery life from 40mins, to about 2 hours. Now I have just had to re-install XP, and downloaded and installed the latest Omega drivers (4.8.442), when I now goto: display properties >> settings >> advanced, I am missing most of the Tabs that I had before, the most important being the PowerPlay button. Where has it gone? Have I done something wrong when installing the drivers, I have tried a few times by un-installing and re-installing the drivers using different settings but I cant get it back. If it has gone for good, does anybody know of a utility I can download to do the same sort of thing. I think it just underclocked the graphics card when the powerlead is unplugged and running on battery. Sorry to bother all you helpful people, but I have tried google, but I'm not really sure of the terms I should use to search for what I want, so have give up after 2 days of looking, and thought its time to ask the people that would know. Big thanks in advance for any help/guidance offered. |
